Students kart design challenge

"Students Kart Design Challenge" is a competition initiated by “Society of Mechanical and Automotive Engineers” to bring, to enhance better engineering approaches and practices in graduate and diploma students. The objective of the competition is to design and fabricate a Go-Kart. The vehicle and associated documentation must be researched, designed and fabricated by the team members without direct /indirect involvement of professional engineers, faculty or professionals in racing. The challenge takes place in two stages; 1st is Virtual Round and 2nd is Final Round. This competition consists of several tests, which are to be performed by the vehicle, successfully clearing each test, and task decides their existence in the competition. All the participating teams are free to exhibit their creativity with few restrictions mentioned in the rulebook. This design challenge provides a platform to teams for showcasing their creativity and engineering skills in comparison to the teams from other universities/colleges across the country.

A brief overview of what SKDC is?

Its Not a race, its a national competation held between students to show their engineering skills in practise.

You are a team with a plan, divided by categories but with a common goal. Fabricate Go-Kart. Your teams perform engineering calculations to design and analyse every part of go-kart , make drawings , start manufacturing with the facilities avaialble at the college.

Students with graduate, Undergraduate and Diploma qualification.
Each Team has to have a mentor who is faculty of the institute the student team is studying. Max. allowed mentors are 2.
Teams can have a maximum of 25 members to be eligible for SKDC. It is recommended to have members to a minimum of 15 members for better performance.
